We help people find the genuine official channels for government entities, particularly for those navigating two countries simultaneously: diaspora communities, travellers, international business people, journalists, and researchers.
What We Do Not Do
We confirm origin, not content. We confirm that a channel is the genuine official channel for a government entity. We do not assess, evaluate, or take any position on what those channels publish.
We are not fact-checkers. We are not a news service. We are not media monitors. We answer one question only: is this the real official channel? We never answer: is this information correct?
Sourcing Methodology
Our standard is binary and objective: a source is listed only if its social media handle or digital channel appears on the official government website of the relevant entity.
How we source each listing:
- Identify the official government website for the entity (e.g. mea.gov.in for India's Ministry of External Affairs)
- Locate the page on that website where social media handles or digital channels are listed
- Record the exact URL of that page as sourcing evidence
- Confirm the listed handle matches an active account on the relevant platform
- Publish the listing with a direct link to the sourcing evidence so anyone can confirm it
Every listing on Authentic Sources includes a "View sourcing evidence" link that takes you to the exact page on the official government website where we found the channel referenced. You can confirm our sourcing yourself.
Listed sources are periodically re-checked. If a source is compromised, renamed, or no longer appears on the official government website, it is removed from the platform.
Conflict of Interest Policy
No government entity pays to be listed. No government entity pays to be removed. No advertiser or commercial partner influences what appears on this platform. Editorial and commercial decisions are completely separate and never overlap.
Government entities are listed because they meet our sourcing standard, not because of any commercial relationship. Commercial content on this site is always clearly labelled and visually separated from official source information.
